What we hold, and who sees it.

Who we are

718 is a trading name of Code Group Ltd, registered in England and Wales under company number 12909059. We are the data controller for the information described here.

What we collect

When you join

• Your name, email address and mobile number
• The country you are based in, and a referral code if you were given one
• Your browser's user agent, to deter automated sign-ups

When we verify your identity

Before a card can be issued, the law requires us to know who you are. This is the most sensitive information we hold, so it is worth being exact about it:

• Date of birth, nationality, gender and occupation
• Your residential address
• The type, number, issue date and expiry date of your identity document
• Images of that document, front and back, and a photograph of you holding it
• Your annual income band, the purpose of the account, and the monthly volume you expect

The images are held in a private, access-controlled store. They are never public, and no part of 718's website can retrieve them.

When you hold a card

• Your card's status, currency, spending limit, and the last four digits of its number
• Amounts you load and withdraw, and the charges applied
• The blockchain address you send funds from, and the transactions between it and us

We never hold your full card number, its security code, or its expiry date. Those exist only inside our card partner's systems, and we cannot see them.

When you message the concierge

• What you ask for, and what we arrange, including travel and dining bookings, and the places involved
• Preferences you tell us, so you are not repeating yourself

Who processes it

We use other companies to run 718. Each sees only what it needs.

Supabase	Our database, sign-in and document storage. Everything above is held here.
Didit	Identity verification. Receives your identity document and photograph and checks them.
Passpoint	Our card partner. Issues and runs your card, and holds the card details we cannot see.
Cobo	Custody of funds in transit. Sees blockchain addresses and amounts.
Anthropic	Answers concierge messages. Receives your name, email, membership and verification status, your card's status and limit, your top-up history, your bookings, and the conversation itself.
Resend	Sends our emails. Sees your name and email address.
Netlify	Hosts this website. Sees your IP address when you visit.
Google	Serves the fonts on this site, which means your IP address reaches Google on every page you open.
WhatsApp and Telegram	Where the desk talks to you. Meta and Telegram see those messages as they would any other chat.

We do not sell your information, and we do not share it for advertising.

Where it goes

Some of these companies are outside the United Kingdom, so your information may be transferred abroad.

Why we use it, and on what basis

• To provide what you have paid for: your membership, the concierge and your card.
• Because the law requires it: identity checks and anti-money-laundering obligations. We cannot issue a card without these, and we cannot waive them.
• To keep the service safe: detecting fraud and abuse.
• Because you agreed: optional messages you have opted into.

How long we keep it

Identity records and transaction records are kept for a period set by anti-money-laundering law, which is longer than your membership lasts. Everything else we keep only while it is useful to you.

The exact periods are being confirmed and will be stated here.

Your rights

Subject to the law, you can ask us for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or object to how we use it. Write to hello@718card.com and we will respond within one month.

Two honest limits. Where the law requires us to keep identity and transaction records, we cannot delete them on request, even if you close your account. And blockchain transactions cannot be deleted by anyone. Once funds move between your wallet and ours, that record is public and permanent, and it is outside our control as much as it is outside yours.

Cookies and similar

We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. Signing in stores a token in your browser so you stay signed in; removing it signs you out.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, tell us first and we will try to put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Changes

If we change how we use your information, we will update this page and change the date at the top. Where a change matters to you, we will tell you directly.
